Unfortunately,
too many Internet genealogists and lists of names publishers overlook the
critical issue of privacy and those of a living person`s fundamental right to
privacy.
Before publishing in the public domain or contributing your family's
personal details to third parties, please consider the following:
Would
you post a sign in front of your home, announcing your relative's names along
with their birth dates and locations or any other identifying or personal
information? Would you submit this information to your local newspaper? Would
your local newspaper even be interested? Their goals are similar to ours
(Internet genealogists) in that they need their articles to be of interest to
the broadest range of readers. I am certain they would not waste any ink
printing my family's personal data. It's not newsworthy or even the least bit
interesting, except maybe to con artists or identity thieves that can and do
use these personal details in many illegal ways. So then, what is the goal in
publishing your family's personal information on the web? I can think of only
one; with the objective of discovering as many relatives as possible. But this can be easily accomplish by simply listing all your related surnames without giving away a single
private detail or just by providing only limited information.

Even if a person wanted to share their family's personal details with the rest
of the world, it would be morally incorrect
(illegal in some countries)
without each member's explicit permission to do so. The facts are, that unless a person was
related to somebody famous, why would anyone 'normally' be interested to know
when little baby Bobby was born or when Uncle Morry filed for bankruptcy or
about Aunt Mabel`s in growing toenail? That sort of personal information does not
add value or interest to a family tree.

I realise that many genealogists act responsibly as I do and are careful not to expose
anything about their living relatives that would put their security at risk and
will always remember to abide by the two golden rules:
I will protect
my living relatives' right to privacy.
I
will not share any personal details about them without their express
permission.
Introduction
THERE are several different versions of the family surname in this
family tree. The name Sasine, Sasiene, Sasienie, sass, Sassiene, Sassieni,
& Sassienie are variants of the origininal surname Sasieni within our
family group. The tree includes eleven generations (2011) of the Sasieni family
originating from Holland.
THE first family member on record is Jacob Salomon and he was married to Matje
Mozes born in the year 1750 Amsterdam Holland. Each heredity Sassienie,
whatever their surname has a direct ancestry to Jacob Salomon and Matje Mozes.
There is no birth date record for Jacob, but do know that he died in Amsterdam
Holland on the 4th January 1800. Jacob had a son born in the year 1796
Amsterdam Holland. His name was Woolf Jacob Sasieni, the first Sasieni on
record. After Woolf the family tree has four branches.
MOST European Countries did not begin to keep official public records and
registrations until the early part of the nineteenth century and European Jews
by and large did not use surnames until it became compulsory under Napoleonic
Law after 1811. This explains why the surname of Sasieni suddenly appears shortly after
the birth of our mutual ancestor, Woolf Jacob Sasieni.
IT is as a rule extraordinarily difficult to discover from whence early
ancestors individually originated as some common European Jewish given names
are shared by all European Jews and many Christians. It is for these reasons
that most amateur family researchers can only ascertain Jewish foundation
ancestral records with European origins equal to about average of ten
generations.
IF you know of any family members that are not mentioned in the family tree,
please would you email to me their details. dates of births, marriages (if
applicable), deaths (if applicable), interesting facts, documents, also photos
of family members sent by email with details, can be published on this site. The
names are irrelvant, providing they are decendants of a Sasieni, their spouses
or parents of spouses.
I would welcome your comments regarding this site and please keep me informed
of any new arrivals to the family that can be included into the family tree as
a legacy for all our future generations.
THE Sassienie Worldwide Family Tree is a collection of genealogical information
taken from family Records, family members, newspapers, Public Record Offices, passenger lists, military records, censuses, social security indexes, public libraries
and the Internet. Although some of the data was obtained from official sources,
most of the information in the Sassienie World Wide Family Tree has been
contributed and not verified against any official records. Therefore it is the
responsibility of those who use this website and all that is contained within
this family tree to verify its accuracy.

I, Anthony Steel, possessor of the Sassienie Worldwide Family Trees, creator and
publisher of the Sassienie Worldwide Family Website; greatly appreciate the
contributions, cooperation and participation of my fellow family members. One
way in which I intend to show my appreciation is through respecting the desire
of many individuals to limit information access that might be made public about
them and their families to provide the users with their family roots as a
legacy for the next generations and a most pleasant, useful and safe
experiences on the World Wide Web.
One of the best ways I have found to ensure this happens is by Keeping
confidentiality and safeguarding info from falling into the wrong hands. The
family trees and certain other data contained in the Sassienie Worldwide Family
Trees and web site is strictly for the benefit of family members only.
The principle of confidentiality mandates a clear moral and legal obligation to
keep confidential all information (either sent or from the Internet) relating
to persons listed in the Sassienie Worldwide Family trees and web site.
Any information which is learned from data sent or during the course of viewing
the Sassienie Worldwide Family Trees is strictly confidential. The recipients
of said data is responsible for ensuring that they do not divulge the
information to any unauthorized individuals, including other family members who
have not directly applied to Anthony Steel at: sassienieanthony@gmail.com for
their family trees and reports. In view of the above, I want to count on you,
with respect, to believe that you will handle the data with all maturity and
confidentiality it deserves.
Recommendations by the National Genealogical
Society and Anthony Steel
15 years ago and before, tracing ancestors back just a
few generations was a complicated process. Compiling information could take
many years of research, which involved making enquiries with relatives, many
hours at a time of arduous letter writing, searching through public records
offices, cemeteries, old documents, photos, newspapers and books. This incurred
time, expense and a great deal of effort.
These days in this technological age of the 21st
century, discovering ones roots has never been easier and with the coming of
the internet, it is possible to research a
family line expediently within the home from anywhere in the world using a
standard computer.
Obtaining family history using technology may require
exchanging and sharing information with other people, organizations,
societies, clubs or relatives. But be aware that this information can be hijacked.
Additional to the obvious risks of contributing
personal information there are also further dangers that are created by others,
some maybe relatives claiming that they only want to share and expand their
family tree. The reality is that some of these people most often have a desire
to become known on the Internet or profit from other peoples work, efforts and
contributions that have been given in good faith.
Cognizant of the fact that sharing information or data
with others, whether through speech, documents or electronic media is
essential to family history research, responsible family historians and
researchers must consistently be aware of the risks involved to themselves by
sharing personal information and also respect the restrictions on sharing
information that arise from the rights of others, such as an author, originator
or compiler; as a private living individual; or as a party to a mutual agreement.
The Internet has become a great place to share
genealogical information about our own or someone else's family. If
contributing information or publishing onto a website, observe meticulously the
legal rights of copyright owners, copying or distributing any part of their
works only with their permission, or to the limited extent specifically allowed
under the law's "fair use" exceptions.
Identify the sources for all ideas, information and data
from others, and the form in which they were received, recognizing that the
unattributed use of another's intellectual work is plagiarism. (Theft).
Inform those who provide information about themselves or their families as to
the ways it may be used, observing any conditions they impose and respecting
any reservations they may express regarding the use of particular items.
Never supply or publish data that may put the security and
privacy of living people at risk, such as age, home address, occupation,
personal life, criminal records, telephone, email, fax, or mobile numbers.
A family tree researched wisely will be trouble free
and bring in great results

Sassienie Family Tree 4 Branches
Our first known mutual ancestors were Jacob Salomon (? –
1800) and his wife, Matje
Mozes (1750 – 1825) both from Amsterdam, Holland.
They had a son, Woolf Jacob Sasieni (1796 – 1869). Woolf married Dientje
(Dinah) Levie Koekoek (1799 – 1881) in Amsterdam, Holland 1825.
Today all
Sassienie worldwide family members directly descend from Jacob Salomon and his
son, Woolf Jacob Sasieni.
Woolf had eight children, only four survived to
adulthood, separating the Sassienie family tree into four branches. The First Sasieni:
The first Sasieni on record was: Woolf Jacob Sasieni (1796 – 1869). He had
eight children. Three died in early childhood and one was still born.
During the mid nineteenth century Wolf Jacob Sasieni and his wife Dientje (Dinah) Koekoek
(1799 – 1881), with their four grown up children, Jacob
Sasiene (1826 – 1889), Levie Wolf Sasieni (1831 – 1888), Moses (Moppy)
Sassienie (1832 – 1922), and Solomon Wolf Sasiene (1839 –1901), left Amsterdam, Holland
to seek a better lifestyle in London, England. It was at the dawning of
England`s great
manufacturing age.
Wolf and his family sailed on the Leda from the Port
of Rotterdam, Netherlands and arrived at the Port of London, England
on January 3rd, 1855, then finalising their journey up through
the River Thames to the East End of London. All our present
day family members descend from either one of those children. Post 1839 after
the birth of Solomon Wolf Sasiene the family tree has four branches.
